My name is Mikko Mananghaya and I take photos. I was born in Northridge CA, and raised in Lancaster CA. Currently, I am a communication design major attending California State University Monterey Bay. I’m a simple being that enjoys rock climbing, slack-lining, drinking tea and sitting in nature. I started photography in the summer of 2016 receiving my first camera right after high school graduation. From then on I slowly developed my own philosophy on the art form. Influenced by Magnum photographers like Alex Webb, I choose to take photos for myself but at the same time choosing to let photos come to me. I don’t think about photography when taking photos, I let moments reveal themselves and sometimes just hope that my shutter is set right. Photography is my form of self expression, to document my understanding of my own reality and express my interpretation of the world.
